Muff village needs you 03.06.11

MUFF Festival committee are looking for a few good men and women to enter this year’s race to become mayor of the border village.
The committee says the mayoral campaign offers a great opportunity to combine "the best of craic" with an opportunity to fundraise for your favourite charity, community or sports group.
Muff village gears up for an exciting mayoral campaign.
Over the years the campaign has managed to raise over €400,000 for good causes both locally and internationally, and is a great focal point in the run-up to the annual festival.
"So perhaps this is your year to get out there and raise some funds for your club, group, or charity, by putting yourself forward as a candidate and organising some fun fundraising events, even in these difficult financial times," said committee PRO, Fearghal O'Boyle.
He said 'Black' Mickey Doherty was among notable former mayors to launch successful political careers on the back of the campaign.
"So get your friends together (if you haven’t got any, we’ll organise a few for you) and get in touch with the Muff Festival committee to enter the only election worth talking about this year," quipped Fearghal.
All interested candidates should contact Tara Reddin, chairperson, Muff Festival committee, Muff Resource Centre. Call 074 93 94572 or email info@mufffestival.com
