Telegraph pole "accident waiting to happen" 13.03.14

A FIANNA Fáil local election candidate is pushing for the relocation of a telegraph pole considered a serious hazard to road users in Moville.
Mary McCauley says the Eircom pole outside the Mill Glen housing estate is “an accident waiting to happen."
She and her party colleague Deputy Charlie McConalogue have been in contact with Eircom and Donegal County Council to raise the concerns of the local people.
“The pole is far too close to the road and the road is already quite narrow. Furthermore, the route has become much busier than it once was," said Ms McCauley.
“There are various housing estates along this road and it is commonly used by local people to travel to Carndonagh.
“Having been in contact with Eircom in relation to these safety concerns, they have confirmed that they are willing to have the pole moved to a safer location.

“However, to do this they must get permission from Donegal County Council. I would urge the council to grant this as soon as possible. The current position of the pole is a clear hazard and is an accident waiting to happen.
"As we all know, it only takes a simply mistake for an accident to happen on our roads. Therefore the council must do their best to ensure that these unnecessary hazards do not exist," she added.
