Carn remembers Jimmy and Kathleen Cuddihy 22.10.15

THE community in Carndonagh will gather this weekend to remember a local husband and wife who were killed in a double murder a year ago.
Pensioners Jimmy and Kathleen Cuddihy were found dead at their home at Churchtown on the Mountain Road on the morning of October 23, 2014.
Their youngest son, Julian (43), has been charged with the killings.
He has been remanded in custody since his arrest a year ago and has been receiving treatment at the Central Mental Hospital for most of that period.
Superintendent Eugene McGovern of Buncrana garda station told Inishowen News that the investigation into the case was now almost concluded.
"The investigation is almost complete and the submission of a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions is imminent," said Supt McGovern.
There was widespread shock when the remains of the retired teacher and nurse, were discovered at their bungalow on the outskirts of the north Inishowen town.
The late Kathleen and Jimmy Cuddihy whose one year anniversary occurs this week.
Kilkenny-born Mr Cuddihy (77) was well-known in the town having first arrived as a young maths teacher to work in Carndonagh Community School in the 1960s.
He settled in Carn permanently after marrying Kathleen (73), a nurse and ambulance worker from nearby Malin.
The couple had four children, two daughters and two sons.
Many heartfelt tributes were paid to the highly-regarded couple who were active in the life of their local community before and after retirement.
They were members of Ballyliffin Golf Club and had both served in captaincy and presidency roles at the club. Kathleen was a tireless fundraiser with a particular focus on patients at Letterkenny General Hospital.
The couple's one-year anniversary mass will take place at the Church of the Sacred Heart, Carndonagh, on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 7pm.
