€50K prize fund for young entrepreneurs 24.07.15

YOUNG Donegal business owners are being urged to apply for a competition with a prize fund of up to €20,000.
The deadline for Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur competition - which is open to people under the age of 30 - is next Friday July 31.
A total of €50,000 is up for grabs in Donegal including a prize of €20,000 in the Best Established Business category for anyone under 30 who has been in business over two years.

Last year’s winner in this category, Christy Lynch of Efficient Plumbing and Heating, said the cash prize was a fantastic help to their business.
He said the money helped him to attend more trade shows and do more marketing.
“Sometimes an established business might think that it’s too time consuming to enter a contest like this, but if you take the time it can be very rewarding," he said.
A €10,000 investment prize is also available for the best start-up.
More details are available from the Donegal Local Enterprise Office on 07491 60735. Applications can also be made online at www.ibye.ie .
