Relaunch of Men’s Shed Carn hailed ‘a huge success’ 30.09.19

THE relaunch of the Men’s Shed Carn on Thursday night (26 September 2019), at the Old Co-op premises in Carndonagh, has been hailed ‘a huge success’ with over 100 people attending the event.
Relaunch of the Men’s Shed Carn project hailed ‘a huge success’ with over 100 people attending the event.
The aim of the Men’s Shed ‘Open Night’ was to provide information on the exciting range of activities, projects and courses on offer and to encourage those in attendance to sign-up or become new members. People from the local community also gave their views on the activities and projects they would like to see offered at the Men's Shed in the future.
Conor Doherty, Chairperson of the Men’s Shed Carn project said: “Men's Shed Carn would like to say a huge ‘Thank You’ to everyone from the local community who turned up to our relaunch – we had great music from men involved in the newly-established Monday Music Nights at the Shed, as well as some fantastic speakers on the open night."

Conor continued “Thanks also to everyone who helped out behind the scenes on this hugely successful event which saw a significant number of new members sign up – including women."
“I’d also like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to Denise McCool and Mary McGeehan from Inishowen Development Partnership (IDP) for their ongoing support of the project since it was established in 2012 – as well as Donegal ETB for funding courses on offer at the Shed. Indeed, on relaunch night the furniture restoration course which starts next Tuesday (October 1st) has now been fully booked up, and therefore we’ll also now be offering and additional course due to the high demand – details to follow soon. Finally, I’d also like to acknowledge Inishowen Co-op for their amazing generosity in providing the premises at a low cost, which has enabled us to successfully operate since our inception."

The new opening times for the Men’s Shed Carn are as follows:
Monday: 8pm - 11pm (including the Music Night)
Tuesday: 10am - 12noon & 7:30pm - 9:30pm (Furniture Restoration)
