And the winner is...Just Ask Harry's 19.10.10

BRIDGEND eaterie Harry's has been named Bord Bia Just Ask Restaurant of the Year 2011.
The award was conferred for Harry's commitment to informing customers about the provenance of the ingredients on their plates. Harry’s sources many of their ingredients within the Inishowen peninsula including getting their fish from Foyle Fishermen's Co-Op in Greencastle.
The Just Ask programme supports large and small artisan suppliers and encourages diners to support restaurants who are in turn supporting local suppliers.
Kevin Doherty, Donal Doherty and Raymond Moran celebrate picking up the
Bord Bia Just Ask award.
The menu at Harry’s gives great detail on each of their suppliers.
Judge Georgina Campbell said: “The provenance of almost every item on the menu is explained with particular importance given to the local farmers, fishermen and local artisan suppliers who make Harry’s Bar & Restaurant the local food hero that it is. Donal and Kevin Doherty along with Raymond Moran are absolutely passionate about their region and it is heartening to see the level to which they support their community."
Proprietor Donal Doherty added: “There was tremendous competition from top-class restaurants for this award. We are lucky enough to run our business in Inishowen, an area so rich in fantastic produce and we make the most of it.
"Our local suppliers are as delighted as us with the award. This is the future to help dig our local economy out of recession, we call it our “Local Food from Local People” campaign, and this award is a highlight.”
