Frizzy fun on Mad Hair Day 16.11.10

GAME-for-a-laugh students at a Buncrana school enjoyed a hair-raising day to raise money for children with life-threatening illnesses.
Mad Hair Day allowed Transition Year students at Scoil Mhuire come to school for one day with their barnets teased into all sorts of crazy, fun and frizzy styles.
They managed to raise an impressive €720 for the Make A Wish Foundation Ireland.
"From spikes to fizz, wigs to pigtails hair-raising creativity was the theme of the day. Scoil Mhuire had some mad and inventive hair styles with students of all ages taking part," said their spokesperson.
Game-for-a laugh from left are Orla Hegarty, David Stuart, Shauna McDaid and Rebecca McKinney.
The students picked out four of the best who will now go forward to the national competition to be judged later in the week. The overall winners will be announced on Friday.
Make-A-Wish grants wishes to children aged between three and 18 with life threatening medical conditions. The organisation depends wholly on the generosity of the Irish public to grant magical wishes. Every wish is unique and extremely special to the family involved, allowing them to forget hospitals, treatments, injections and even the illness itself.
