Cancer group to meet Tánaiste 11.06.09

THE provision of cancer services for the people of Donegal and the North West will be discussed this Friday when Co-operating for Cancer Care NorthWest meets Tánaiste Mary Coughlan. A CCC(NW) delegation will meet with the Ms Coughlan to discuss progress and developments regarding breast services; screening and radiation services for the region.
Tánaiste Mary Coughlan at the recent International Sheep Shearing Championships in Burt The group will hold a public meeting the following week, on Friday, June at 7.30pm in Ostan-Na-Rossan Hotel, Dungloe to brief people on the outcome. It is envisaged that this will be the first of several meetings CCC(NW) will hold throughout the county in the coming months.
“The purpose of the meetings will be to give people and the media the opportunity to be updated on the progression of our work of the past four years in securing breast services; screening services and radiation services, etc for the Donegal/North West Region," said CCC(NW) spokesperson Noelle Duddy.
“CCC(NW)'s only aim is for the people of the North West to be in receipt of equitable,
accessible, cancer services as near to home as is safely possible that will be of a standard not less than best practice with best outcome for the patient.
"We invite the Donegal public to hear our story, our progress and achievements. All are very welcome.”
