Ace day at Culdaff Tennis Club 15.06.09

CULDAFF Tennis Club were delighted recently to play host to the president of Tennis Ireland, Lettie Lucas and her husband George.
The distinguished guests joined the local members for a great evening of social tennis at the Glacknadrummond tennis court. Lettie and George have both represented Ireland at veteran level and said they thoroughly enjoyed their games in the scenic surroundings of Inishowen. "What a beautiful setting for a tennis court, overlooking fields and mountains," said George. Culdaff Tennis Club chairman Oliver Drummond, wished Lettie every success during her term of office as president - the most prestigious position in Tennis Ireland. A lovely evening was had by all and supper afterwards was provided by Grace McCandless.
Culdaff Tennis Club members and guests inclucing David McCandless, Joan McCandless, Oliver Drummond, Letty Lucas, Noah and Ethan, Grace McCandless, Trevor Topping, George Lucas and Kevin Cleary.
Meanwhile, Culdaff Tennis Club is actively seeking new members. Visitors and holidaymakers are also welcome, and the court may be booked at anytime except Friday evenings which is for members only. The floodlights may be used for later games, at a nominal charge.
Competitively, the men's team began their defence of the North West Men's B League with a competitive 4-0 win at Donaghmore. The team was Kevin Cleary, Oliver Drummond, David McCandless and Trevor Topping. Lettie also congratulated Culdaff Tennis member, Joan McCandless in helping to secure victory for the Donegal team at the recent Inter-County Event in Portush.
