Inishowen DJs mix it up for charity 16.07.09

SIX of the peninsula's finest DJs are giving their time free next week to mix it up for local causes. Jason Young, Justiy, Kevin McGrath, DJ Pajo, Conor Jay and Matt Navero will all play the 'Party in the Point' in Foody's Lodge, Quigley's Point on Thursday, July 23, with proceeds going to Inishowen Community Radio (ICRfm) and a play park being built by East Inishowen Special Needs group.
The night is being organised by ICRfm and the station's assistant manager, Emma McDermott, appealed to their younger listeners to go along. “While ICRfm has run a number of successful fundraising concerts in recent years, we decided we should hold some events that would appeal to the station’s younger listeners in the area. To that end we’ve organised the upcoming event in Foody’s Lodge and also an acoustic night in McGrory’s, Culdaff, in September," she said.

voluntary media training and other station-related activity. Meanwhile, East Inishowen Special Needs Group spokesman Sean McCauley, thanked everyone involved and explained that funds raised on the night would go towards a play park in Carndonagh for children with special needs. The Cavanagh Brothers, Kevin and Colm, are supplying the PA system and also acting as sound engineers on the night. Tickets are selling quickly so call ICR on 9329105 for yours. The first DJ begins at 9pm and people are advised to get there early.
