:: Moville GAA Club
04.07.17
Next weekend is building up to be one of the busiest so far for
the club when all three senior teams are down for championship
action over the weekend. On Sunday evening the club will be hosting
the Joe McGeady finals with Burt v Buncrana in the B final at 6pm
followed by Muff v Malin in the A final at 7:30. It promises to be a
great night and a night to honour a true Gael and gentleman Joe
McGeady who brought a lot to the club and promoted our national game
with great pride and enthusiasm. Please come along to this fantastic
evening and if your willing to help please get in contact with any
committee member as many hands make light work.
Well done to our u12 girls who retained their Inishowen B title last
week in Burt. It was a fantastic game of football and special word
of thanks to Amanda and Michael for all their hard work over the
year.
Well done also to our u12 boys who have advanced to the Inishowen
semi finals with time and venue to be confirmed.
Yet even more praise for our stars of the future as our three u8
teams who took part in Saturdays go-games finals in Malin. All three
teams played fantastic football all year and the future looks bright
for Moville if the skill levels displayed at their young age is
anything to go by. Thanks to the Malin club for organising the
finals day, the referees, our coaches and all the parents who came
to support. Next up is the U-10 go-games finals in Carndonagh this
Saturday 8th at 10.30am followed by an U-8 finals day for girls in
Newtown at 6.30pm on Friday July 14th and an U-10s finals day for
girls in Urris at 6.30pm on Friday July 21st.
Saturday morning training finishes for the summer this Saturday
morning and resumes in September. Huge thanks to all the coaches and
the parents who bake and help out each week.
Places are still available for next weeks Cul camp which runs from
Monday 10th to Friday 14th at 10am to 2.30pm for 5-13 year olds.
Bookings can be made on-line or at training on Saturday morning.
Our minor girls got their defence to their championship off to a
great start on Saturday afternoon with a great victory over a very
strong Glenties team. The girls played some magnificent football and
in the end pulled away to register a comfortable victory.
A massive congratulations to Aoife McColgan Niamh & Ciara Hegarty
who were part of the Donegal senior ladies team who reclaimed the
senior ladies Ulster title over defending champions Monaghan on
Sunday. All three ladies played a pivotal role in the victory and
also congratulations to all fellow Inishowen ladies, the squad and
the management team on their victory.
Our senior reserves men got their championship off to a
disappointing start on Sunday evening with a defeat at home to
Convoy. The lads will have a chance to put things right with the two
remaining games in the group stages.
