iCARE's Jim Devlin told InishowenNews.com: "We hope to have at least 2,500 Santas signed up in time for the challenge. There's only a few weeks left to go, so we're hoping the shop will significantly help the recruitment drive. We've had a good response so far from the local schools and we're hoping that will continue."
Mr. Devlin said the record-breaking attempt was particularly important given its cross-border, cross-community dimension.
Meanwhile, key organisations, businesses and individuals from every sector of the community have been invited to attend a public presentation in Derry's City Hotel on Wednesday, November 14, to outline the logistics and objectives of the challenge.
