Ciarán sings for Bóthar
26.10.11
A YOUNG Moville man has
used his love of singing to help families in the
developing world.
Ciarán Keogh from Ballynally recorded a CD covering
some of his favourite artists such as Elvis Presley
to raise funds for Bóthar. The talented singer
managed to raise €350 which he recently handed over
to the charity.
Bóthar establishes families in micro-farming units
by giving them the living gift of a farm animal.
Bóthar's Aoibheann Fearon thanked Ciarán for his
kind donation. She explained how the charity's funds
are used.
"Families are trained in the areas of building
animal shelters, growing fodder, animal health and
welfare issues, environmental practices, record
keeping and marketing of their produce. The families
are also provided with full veterinary back-up
including assistance with breeding." |

Ciarán Keogh presents the proceeds of
his charity CD to Bóthar's Aoibheann Fearon. |
Bóthar works in 35
countries throughout the world including countries
in Africa, Asia, South America and some eastern
European countries. It has expanded over the years
and now works with many different species including
dairy cows, goats and camel, water buffalo, guinea
fowl, bees, snails, rabbits and many more.
"Where there is a need and where we can help we will
do so," added Ms Fearon. |
