Inishowen TDs take seats

INISHOWEN'S newest TDs,
Padraig MacLochlainn and Charlie McConalogue, took
their seats in the 31st Dail for the first time on
Wednesday. |

The first Buncrana-based
deputy in the history of the State, Padraig
MacLochlainn took his seat within the Sinn Féin
block, the second largest in Opposition.
One of fourteen Sinn Fein TDs nationwide,
MacLochlainn is expected to be handed a high-profile
position in the republican party. The Inishowen poll
topper is understood to favour the post of
spokesperson for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
The only Fianna Fáil TD for Donegal, Charlie
McConalogue had a front row Opposition seat, in

for the election of
Enda Kenny as Taoiseach. The 33-year-old Gleneely
farmer, one of twenty FF deputies nationwide, is
expected to be handed a high-profile post when the
party finalises its front bench positions after the
