A BUNCRANA company
director has received a three-year suspended prison
term following an investigation by Revenue.
Mary McKinney, a haulage contractor from Riverside,
Cockhill Road, was ordered to carry out 240 hours'
community service in lieu of the sentence. She was
found guilty on 15 counts of delivering incorrect
VAT returns.
The details are included in the latest list of tax
defaulters published by the Revenue Commissioners
for the three months up to December 31, 2010. There
were other Inishowen businesses on the latest
defaulters' list.
Moville mechanic, Danny Doherty, The Mill, Gulladuff,
was ordered to pay €403,000 in undeclared VAT,
income tax and penalties.
Building contractor, Columba Doherty, of Dundrain,
Burnfoot, was ordered to pay €102,833 in undeclared
VAT and penalities.
Meanwhile, Wade McGinley of Main Street, Buncrana,
was fined €2,500 on one count of illegally selling
cigarettes. Sean McDonagh of the Railway Tavern,
Firebox Grill, Fahan, was fined €633 for failing to
hold a current liquor licence.
Noel Buchanan, a farmer of Bridgetown, Burt, was
fined €4,000 for failing to lodge income tax
returns. Plant and machinery operator, Patrick
Doherty, Killourt, Malin Head, was fined €1,250 for
failing to lodge income tax returns while haulier
Thomas A. Doherty, Tullyowen, St Johnston, was fined
€1,250 for failing to lodge income tax returns.
Denis McDaid, a painting and glazing contractor of
Hillside View, Mindoran, Clonmany, was fined €1,250
for failing to lodge income tax returns. |
