Classical comes to Carn church

THE Church of the
Sacred Heart, Carndonagh, will be the setting for an
evening of classical music later this month. The
event will be presented by the Donagh Church Choir,
directed by Helen Haughey, with Mike Doherty on
organ.
Guest performers will include Joseph Deery,
baritone, Danielle Cavanagh, and Kate McCreanor,
sopranos, and Ciara Fagan, recorder. Music by
Palestrina, and three movements from Fauré’s Requiem
as well as organ works by Couperin, Franck and Widor
will feature. |

The concert including
sacred music, will be held on Sunday, May 27 at
7.30pm and admission is free. There will, however,
be a charity collection on the night for Orla
Doherty, who sings alto in the choir, and who is
volunteering with the Niall Mellon Township Trust in
South Africa later this year. |
