A MONSTER movie shot in
Inishowen has received a big boost with confirmation
that it is to go on release in the US and Latin
America.
Comedy horror flick 'Grabbers', was filmed on
location last year in Moville and other parts of the
peninsula. It stars Love/Hate's Ruth Bradley and
Richard Coyle (Prince of Persia).
Written by Kevin Lehane,
the movie follows the adventures of policeman Ciarán
O'Shea and his new partner Lisa Nolan who must
protect an Irish island community from tentacled sea
creatures called Grabbers. However, the creatures,
it seems, don't like the taste of drunk people. The
film which screened at the Sundance Film Festival in
January, also stars Russell Tovey and Bronagh
Gallagher. Deadline.com has reported that IFC
Midnight has agreed a deal to release the film in
the US and Latin America. IFC Midnight streams on
demand films the same day they premiere in cinemas.
