Donegal to play in Michaela's memory 02.10.12

DONEGAL'S All-Ireland winning team are to take on Ulster's finest players in memory of Michael McAreavey who was murdered on her honeymoon.
The 'Match for Michaela - a festival with football' will take place on Saturday, November 3 at Casement Park in Belfast. The fundraising event, organised by Ulster GAA in partnership with the Michaela Foundation, is in memory of Michaela's contribution to the GAA community.
The evening's range of festivities will be compered by Hector Ó hEochagáin and is expected to attract thousands of people from across the island of Ireland. All money raised will go to the Michaela Foundation.
John McAreavey and Mickey Harte of the Michaela Foundation join forces with Ulster GAA president Aogán Ó Fearghail for the launch of a 'Match for Michaela' – a festival with football on Saturday, November 3 in Casement Park, Belfast.
The highlight will be the competitive match between the Donegal men and Ulster's finest players - the current Interprovincial Champions.
Michaela's husband, John McAreavey said he cannot wait for the event and said the proceeds would help with his ambitious plans for the future.
“I am really excited about this event. We have a great team working behind the scenes and are confident spectators will enjoy a fantastic evening of entertainment. As well as contributing to our growth plans for The Michaela Girls Camp into other counties, the proceeds from this major event will go directly into our fund for ‘The Michaela Centre’ which will be located in Tyrone and act as a hub for all our future activities," said John.
Michaela’s father, Mickey Harte, added: “On behalf of our entire family I wish to express my most sincere thanks to the Ulster Council for affording us this opportunity to remember Michaela in such a special way."
The event, on November 3, will run from 6pm to 10pm with plenty of entertainment promised "and the memory, values and principles of Michaela kept very much alive".
Tickets are now on sale for this special one-off event from www.tickets.ie  , from county boards and GAA clubs and from participating Supervalu and Centra stores nationwide. Tickets are priced at £10/€10 for adults and £5/€5 for children.
