Donegal tunes up for Rory Gallagher Festival 20.02.12

ORGANISERS of the Rory Gallagher International Tribute Festival 2012 say they are weeks away from “from announcing the best line-up ever.” The four-day event which has been hailed as Ireland’s greatest rock music event was recently named the Best Irish Festival for attendances between 10,000 and 30,000 at the Irish Festival Awards.
Chairperson and founder of the Rory Gallagher Festival, Barry O’Neill said: “The festival has grown significantly over the past 10 years and in that time we have had many great musicians play in Ballyshannon from all Rory’s original band members to the late Ronnie Drew, Bernie Marsden from Whitesnake, Eric Bell from Thin Lizzy to Dutch legend Julian Sas and last year we were honoured to have Jan Akkerman and his.”
The 11th tribute festival takes place in Ballyshannon, Co Donegal between Thursday, May 31 and Sunday, June 3.
