ALL roads lead to
Moville this weekend for the eighth annual
BeatlesFest - Ireland’s only festival celebrating
the music of the Fab Four.
The popular event takes place from Friday, August 1
- Sunday, August 3 with lots of great music indoors
and outdoors over the three days.
Each night has a theme with the Come Together Night
on the Friday, A Hard Day’s Night on the Saturday
and Hello, Goodbye Night on the Sunday night.
Sandwiched in between are Here Comes the Sun
Afternoon and Strawberry Fields Afternoon on the
Sunday.
The indoor music will take place in the pubs of the
town and at the nearby Redcastle Hotel which joins
the BeatlesFest music trail for the first time this
year.
Hotel guests and visitors can look forward to great
food and hospitality set against the beautiful
backdrop of Lough Foyle.
The BeatlesFest afternoon sessions take place at the
picturesque open-air Putting Green Cafe in Bath
Green, Moville.
Festival regular Tony Bramwell, who was the Beatles
road manager, will be attending for a fourth year in
a row.
“Tony got in touch a few years ago and asked 'Do you
want me to come?” which we did," explained
BeatlesFest organiser Gerry McLaughlin.
"He is still in regular touch with Paul McCartney
and makes a report on Moville’s BeatlesFest to Paul
and Ringo every year." |
