A TROUBLED Inishowen
man who was killed on a German motorway is suspected
of earlier stabbing three people.
Enda McLaughlin, 27, from Glentogher, Carndonagh is
reported to have been hit by a car in the early
hours of Monday as police pursued him.
Interpol yesterday informed Gardaí that an Irishman
had died in Germany.
The Carn man, who has been in and out of the Donegal
court system since his teenage years, had travelled
by taxi from the Dutch city of Heerlen to Aachen in
Germany.
It is alleged he stabbed the driver when he reached
his destination before fleeing the scene. It is also
alleged that he demanded money from a German
national, before stabbing him. It is understood he
hailed another taxi to bring him to Cologne and when
he disembarked he went on to allegedly stab a third
person, a truck driver. McLaughlin reportedly then
ran across the motorway and was knocked down and
killed. All three stab victims were treated in
hospital.
The Glentogher man had a litany of previous
convictions since his teenage years, including
assault. |
