IT'S official - June
was Ireland's hottest month in ten years with
temperatures exceeding 25C in parts of the country.
Though cooler and cloudier here today, Inishowen was
among the country's top sun spots for most of last
month.
Met Éireann figures show that the highest
temperature was recorded on June 18 in Fermoy, Cork,
at 26C - the hottest since 1995.
Mean temperatures were also above average ranging
from 13.4C at Malin Head to 15.2C at Shannon
Airport.
The sunniest day was recorded at Belmullet, Co Mayo
on June 17, with 15.8 hours — its sunniest June day
since 1995.
