Daniel O'Donnell has been booted off Strictly Come
Dancing is his baby grand-daughter Olivia.
The Donegal singer (53) has revealed his early
departure from the hit BBC dance show now leaves him
free to enjoy some fun times with the adorable
three-month old infant.
He said he and wife Majella (55) will be joined at
their holiday home in sunny Tenerife next month by
Olivia, her mum Siobhan and dad Gavin.
"We were going to be in Tenerife in November and
(Olivia) was going to be there and I was supposed to
be there and then Strictly came up and I thought we
wouldn't be there. So (now) we'll have lots of time.
She's a wee dote," the singer said.
Daniel also told Strictly spin-off It Takes Two that
he believes his departure came at the right time and
he thanked everyone involved in the popular series
including the production crew, professional dancers,
judges and presenters.
The crooner also posted a thank you message to
devoted fans on his official website yesterday
describing his time in the competition as a
"wonderful experience".
"Thank you so much to all of you who watched, voted
and just supported myself and Kristina on Strictly.
"As always through the years, you have never let me
down and neither have you now.
"As I look back on it, I've made great friendships
and just the opportunity to learn to dance a bit
better is something that I will always treasure," he
said.
Daniel's professional dance partner Kristina
Rihanoff was in tears when the duo's run on the show
came to a premature end on Sunday. They had danced
the American Smooth-Foxtrot the previous night as a
pilot and air stewardess to the classic track ‘Fly
Me to the Moon’.
The Russian dancer said Daniel and Majella treated
her to a special meal as a thank you treat after the
show.
She also revealed that she planned to read Majella’s
best-selling memoir 'It's All in the Head'.
"Thank you for the wonderful dinner Majella and
Daniel. I'm so sad it's over but I have the time to
read your book Majella xxx!" Ms Rihanoff tweeted her
129,000 followers. |

episode of their B&B Roadtrip show airing next week
on UTV Ireland.
