DONEGAL County Council
has announced that the public consultation period
for the Donegal County Development Plan has been
extended until September 1, 2017.
The period was extended following a misprint of the
email address on the council’s website and to allow
more time during the holiday period.
The local authority hopes the extra time will allow
more members of the public to make submissions to
the plan.
The Draft County Donegal Development Plan 2018-2024
and Environmental Report sets out a land use
planning policy framework to guide the way in which
Co Donegal will be developed into the future.
When adopted, the policies in this plan will be a
material consideration in making decisions on
planning applications in the county, the council
said.
It is the first consolidated plan for the entire
Donegal County Council area including the former
Town Council areas of Buncrana, Letterkenny and
Bundoran.
Public submissions will be taken into consideration
before the drawing up of the plan. "If you made a
submission by email before 13th July 2017 and you
did not receive an acknowledgement email by return,
your submission may not have been received. The
Council apologises for this error and is asking that
you resend your submission to
donegalcdp@donegalcoco.ie ," the council said in
a statement.
Submissions or observations can be made until
Friday, September 1, 2017 at 4pm.
Submissions can also be made by post to the Central
Planning Unit, Donegal County Council, County House,
Lifford.
