Greg Mortimer
anchors off Greencastle
15.05.22
GREENCASTLE this morning
hosted a 'revolutionary' ship, the Greg Mortimer which
was purpose-built for expeditions to the 'most remote
places on earth'. |
Built in 2019, it is the
first passenger ship to feature the revolutionary
Ulstein X-BOW®. This allows it to cross oceans more
comfortably and efficiently and with expansive
observation decks, to bring the passenger closer to the
environment.
The vessel has both luxury communal areas and
'unsurpassed environmental credentials'.
The owners say it offers the perfect base camp for
'adventures at the outer limits of human exploration'. |

The expedition ship, Greg
Mortimer, anchored off Greencastle. |
The boat, anchored this
morning in Lough Foyle, accommodates an average of 132
expeditioners per voyage. It has 76 cabins, each with a
view of the ocean. The ship also features a lecture
lounge, multiple observation areas, a restaurant, a gym
and wellness centre, jacuzzis, a mudroom and other
amenities.
Update: At 12:30 pm today, Sunday 15th May, the Greg
Mortimer raised anchor and left Lough Foyle. |
