Summer Stars at
libraries in Inishowen

Community Libraries are taking part in Summer Stars, the
reading
programme for children which runs until the end of
August.
All children in Inishowen are invited to join the
adventure and to enjoy the fun and pleasure of reading
and writing over the summer. Summer Stars is
non-competitive and every child who reads even one book
/ ebook is regarded as having completed the programme –
and it’s all completely free! |
Cathaoirleach of the
Donegal Municipal District, Cllr Niamh Kennedy
commented, “Donegal County Council is delighted to
launch this fantastic literacy programme. With a
fabulous range of free events in libraries across the
county and some free goodies for those taking part, I am
sure the children will really enjoy taking part in
Summer Stars. It is great to see that our libraries have
resumed a full schedule of live events again and that,
as always, the service offers a wide range of excellent
services for everyone in the community”
This year, children and their families can join arts,
crafts, workshops, storytelling, fitness classes and
drama sessions. Children will also get the opportunity
to meet local Donegal authors such as Louise Flanagan.
