Small Voices. Big Stories 09.10.26

WAINFEST 2026 - 'Small Voices. Big Stories', Donegal’s annual children’s arts and book festival, was officially launched in the beautiful surroundings of Oakfield Park, marking the beginning of a landmark 30th birthday celebration.

For three decades, Wainfest has inspired young imaginations and brought children, families and communities together through books, stories, performance and creativity. This is a milestone year which promises to be an extra-special celebration of that legacy.

This year's festival will take place from 10th to 18th October in libraries, community and cultural venues across Inishowen. The special 30th anniversary theme, 'Small Voices. Big Stories.', highlights the power of every child's voice and reminds us that even the smallest stories can have a big impact.

Events in Inishowen, including Messy Play, Arts & Crafts, Gaming and Storytelling, will take place in Buncrana, Carndonagh, Burnfoot and Moville.
