GARDAI are continuing
their investigation into an alleged assault in
Buncrana in the early hours of Saturday.
Initial reports suggest that a young man was
followed from a nightclub to his home around 4.30am
where he was attacked by two men, suffering facial
injuries.
Garda Inspector David Kelly yesterday said: "A
report has been made to Gardai regarding an incident
at Mill Brae, Buncrana, in which a young man was
allegedly assaulted. That matter is being actively
investigated by Gardai and as part of that
investigation we are appealing for members of the
public to come forward."
Inspector Kelly said the public appeal was
two-pronged - firstly to ascertain if there were any
witnesses to the incident and secondly to eliminate
persons in the area at the time, from their
inquiries.
Inspector Kelly said footage from CCTV cameras in
the town would also be examined as part of the
investigation. Anyone with information is asked to
contact Buncrana Garda Station on 93 20540. |
