Caiseal Mara "pivotal" to Moville

NORTH East Inishowen
Tourist Development Company Ltd (NEITDC) has
welcomed news that more than 30 jobs in a Moville
hotel have been saved despite the premises going
into receivership.
NEITDC chairman, Leo McCauley, said the safeguarding
of jobs at the Caiseal Mara Hotel was "encouraging"
in the middle of a recession.
“In these tough times it is encouraging to learn
that not only is the hotel trading as usual but they
are taking on extra part-time staff for the summer
period," he said.
Mr McCauley added that having a 50-bedroom hotel in
the centre of town had played a pivotal role over
the years in attracting visitors to Moville. |

"In such a difficult
climate for businesses, especially in border areas,
we welcome any positive news that can only benefit
the locality," he said.
Receiver Seamus Farren, of Farren Roarty Chartered
Accountants in Letterkenny, was recently appointed
to the Caiseal Mara Hotel by Bank of Scotland
(Ireland). However, one of hotel's managers, Mark
Langford, |
stressed that the
business was performing well and that the venue's 30
jobs were safe.
He said there was no intention to close the hotel
and invited anyone with concerns about future or
existing bookings to call in and discuss them with
management. |
