NCT centre dogged by delays
09.06.10
LONG delays are still
hampering the smooth operation of Inishowen's new
NCT centre in Carndonagh, according to a local
senator.
Senator Cecilia Keaveney said she continued to track
the progress of the new facility and urged the
operators to react promptly to the demand.
"Again in recent weeks I have had people contact me,
concerned that the date being given to them for
their test is not until September.
"Having spoken again with the operators, I have been
told that if people have prioritised Carndonagh they
can be placed on a waiting list and will be dealt
with within two to three weeks," she said. |

The Moville-based
senator described the current situation as a
"vicious circle".
"If people think there will be a delay for Carn they
may opt for another centre. However, if people do
not opt for Carn then there is a difficulty in
planning for needs.
"Therefore, I would encourage people to opt for
Carndonagh and I will continue to encourage the
operators to employ more and more staff in our local
facility," she added.
She said she had been assured, from day one, that
the opening times and employees in Carn would expand
to meet the need.
"In any new venture there will be teething troubles
until the real demand is known and the facility
establishes itself.
"As I have brought these to the attention of the
operators there has been a positive and active
response." |
