Renewed appeal for missing doctor
28.01.10
GARDAI have renewed
their appeal in the case of Dr Deirdre O'Flaherty
who disappeared in Inishowen a year ago.
Dr O'Flaherty went missing in the coastal Kinnego
Bay area on Sunday, January 11, 2009. Her silver BMW
4X4, registration number ADZ 100, was found
abandoned on the beach by a person out walking at
10.40am that day.
The 47-year old's disappearance sparked a massive
air and sea search that lasted for many days, but no
trace of her was ever found. |

Gardai renewed their
appeal this week through the Crimecall programme on
RTE One.
"An extensive search of the area has failed to
locate Deirdre O’Flaherty and she remains missing to
this date," said Gardai.
Dr O'Flaherty worked as a GP for the Western Urgent
Care Out of Hours service in Derry and practiced
under her maiden name, Donnelly.
She lived in the Strabane area with her husband and
three children and was visiting the family holiday
home in Kinnego Bay when she went missing. |
Gardaí in Buncrana
continue to investigate the case. Anyone with
information is asked to call 074 932 0504. |
