Seeking Donegal's top businesses
22.01.10
INISHOWEN enterpreneurs
are being urged to enter a competition to find
Donegal's business people of the year.
The nominations for this year’s Enterprising Donegal
Business Awards are now open and are aimed at small
and micro businesses throughout the county.
Donegal County Enterprise Board chief executive
Michael Tunney said the competition would help raise
the profile of entrants.
“We know that there are a lot of businesses that are
punching above their weight in today's tougher
economic climate and we would like to see them take
the opportunity presented by the awards to raise
their profiles locally and nationally. This is a
great chance to put your company on the map," said
Mr Tunney. |

The awards will be
presented on the closing night of Enterprising
Donegal Week 2010 from March 5 to March 12. Previous
award winners include Multicrete and North West
Aluminium while the winner of the overall business
of the year award last year was Denis Sheridan of
Kilmacrennan based DS Environmental Services. “I was
shocked and delighted to win the Business of the
Year Award,” he said. “We’re so proud to have won
the award and it was a great boost to us as we
promoted and expanded the business over the past
twelve months."
The awards were instituted by the Donegal County
Enterprise Board in 1997 as a way to highlight
success stories among small businesses in Donegal.
The categories for which firms can be nominated
include: innovation, business growth, business
achievement, export, emerging new business and
overall business of the year. The overall county
award winner goes on to represent Donegal at the
National Enterprise awards.
The closing date for this year's Enterprising
Donegal Business Awards 2010 is Friday, January 29,
2010. To nominate your company, please contact the
office of the Donegal County Enterprise Board for an
application form on 074 9160735 or email
