INISHOWEN Rugby Club
are celebrating winning a cheque for €10,000 as one
of three runners-up in the Kellogg's Field of Dreams
competition.
After a hard-fought campaign, Kilglass Gaels GAA
Club from Co Roscommon emerged the overall winners,
scooping the top prize of €100,000.
However, the three other finalists including the
Carn-based rugby club, Danesfort GAA and Glengarrif
GAA will have their coffers boosted by a much-needed
€10K to modernise their sports facilities.
Each of the finalists had been assigned a celebrity
champion to represent them and to rally support from
the Irish public. RTÉ sports personality Tracy
Piggott rooted strongly for Inishowen Rugby Club. |

Speaking at the start
of the competition, Ireland rugby star Rob Kearney
noted: “The strength of the applications received
and the lengths communities went to, collecting
tokens and raising awareness for the Kellogg’s Field
of Dreams competition was phenomenal."
Kellogg’s Ireland managing director, Jim McNeill,
added: “I would like to take this opportunity to say
well done to each and every club who entered. The
lengths that some of the clubs went to and the
