John hopes to 'milk' the lottery 19.08.10

by Linda McGrory

AN Inishowen milkman hopes a lottery gameshow will be his cash cow when he plays Big Money this weekend on RTE.
John McDermott, 43, who operates a milk round with this brother Seamus in Greencastle, said he was delighted his three-star scratchcard was pulled from the drum.
"I didn't even buy the scratchcard, I won it with a lottery ticket. I thought to myself 'it's only an oul scratchcard' but then it came up trumps for me," he said.

John's luck also continues a 'Winning Streak' for Farren's Newsagents in Moville which has sold two successful Big Money scratchcards in the last fortnight.
Quigley’s Point woman Eithne McCauley scooped €32,000 last Saturday week, and this Saturday, John will be in front of the cameras. Farren's owner, Denis Foynes, is thanking his lucky stars.
“I’ve been here ten years and have had around four winners over the time, and to get two in two weeks is incredible,” he said.

Daisi the cow wishes John McDermott plenty of luck on the The Big Money Game this Saturday.
“We’ve been doing good sales on lottery scratchcards, especially since Eithne won and I’m delighted that one of our regular customers has struck lucky again.”
Meanwhile, John, who is single, says he won't be taken in by any extra female attention if he wins big. "We'll say nothing about that," quipped the Greencastle man.
Meanwhile, a big crowd of friends and family including his parents, James and Annie and his six siblings will head down to Dublin in a mini-bus around dawn on Saturday while many more will gather in front of the telly at home or in the pub that evening at 8.30pm to cheer him on. "It should be good craic," he laughed.
