'P' for Patricia's €40k Peugeot
17.05.10
BUNCRANA mum Patricia
McLaughlin is celebrating a Winning Streak windfall
of a €40,000 Peugeot 4x4, a holiday worth €5,000 and
€4,000 in cash.
And the mother-of-three, who looked fabulous on the
TV show, will also have to put up with a few
lookalike jokes back home after TV presenter Marty
Whelan said she was a dead-ringer for former
'Countdown' queen Carol Vorderman. "Has anyone ever
looked at you and said 'can I have a consonant
please Carol?'," quipped Whelan. |
Patricia travelled from
Buncrana to Dublin with a large entourage including
husband Maurice and children Kerry, Ciara and Sean.
Also cheering her on was Maurice's sister Dolores,
who appeared on the show in 1992 before it became
televised.
Locals will have enjoyed the fun introduction to the
Inishowen contestant when she revealed that, with so
many Patricia McLaughlins in Buncrana, she wasn't
sure whether or not |

she was the would-be
wheel spinner. The introduction, also proved to be a
nice showcase for the town's scenery and beaches.
Patricia poignantly told the TV audience she felt
her late mother, Theresa Doherty, who died at the
end of April, was looking out for her.
"It would be great to spin the wheel but money's not
everything. Your health is your wealth," she said
before heading off.
And while she didn't get to spin the wheel, the
Malin Head-born mum went on to win prizes and cash
worth €49,000 including a top-of-the-range Peugeot
4007 and a holiday to New York worth €5,000. |
