A special 'Boys' Night'
for fathers, stepfathers and grandfathers will be
held next Tuesday in St. Patrick's Boys' School in
Carndonagh.
The introductory evening is being run by Promoting
Fatherhood, an Inishowen based organisation offering
courses and training centred around fathers and
fathering.
Participants on the night will hear about an
upcoming course to be run in January and February.
"Fathers, stepfathers and grandfathers have an
important role to play in boys’ lives. They are the
men that boys look up to and learn from about being
male.
"Boys face challenges as they grow up: girls are
outperforming boys in almost all academic subjects,
boys are leaving school early in greater numbers
than girls and boys are more likely to be involved
in car accidents, violence and at worst suicide,"
said a Promoting Fatherhood spokesman. Tuesday's
event will run from 7.30pm until 9.30pm. For more
information about the course ring Delilah Cuddihy on
93 74412 or David Simpson on 93 81224. |
