New dole office opens

BUNCRANA'S Social
Welfare office has moved to new, ultra modern
premises at Ardaravan. From this week, anyone
wishing to sign on or avail of other welfare
services should contact staff there.
The contact number for the office has changed. The
new contact number is 9364600.
The local Social Welfare office in Castle Avenue,
closed to the public last Friday and Monday,
November 30, 2009 to facilitate the move and will
not reopen.
Sinn Fein Town Councillor Daren Lalor said it was
sad so many Inishowen people would have to avail of
unemployment assistance. |

“Firstly, I would like
to welcome the opening of the new Social Welfare
offices. Unfortunately due to the mismanagement of
our economy these new offices and the staff will
come under huge demand in the time ahead. I only
hope the staff will be given all the |

resources required to
deal with the demand from the savage job losses
across the peninsula,” he said.
The move will not impact on existing customers'
payment arrangements as all payments are made
through the Post Office or through the customers'
bank account.
The opening hours at the new Buncrana Social Welfare
office are: 9.15am to 12 noon and 2pm - 4pm, Monday
to Friday. Customers seeking information on welfare
schemes and services can contact the Information
Services of the Department of Social and Family
Affairs on Locall: 1890 66 22 44. |
