DONEGAL North East T.D.,
Deputy Niall Blaney said the tough Budget was
"necessary to ensure swift economic recovery".
Deputy Blaney said Ireland was going through one of
the most difficult economic periods in its history.
“First and foremost it is vital that we restore
Ireland’s competitiveness so that we are ready to
take advantage of all opportunities that are
presented to us when the world economy recovers.” He
said Tuesday's Budget aimed to do this through its
six-step plan of renewal to include reduced
spending, increased taxes and banking measures to
restore the country's reputation abroad. |
