US President Barack
Obama inauguration party took delivery last week of
a gift from an Inishowen whiskey maker.
Hundreds of bottles of whiskey from Cooley
Distillery - co-owed by Buncrana man Willie McCarter
- were shipped to Washington DC for the
celebrations. |
The special Tyrconnell
whiskey was specially bottled and labelled to mark
the occasion. Cooley Distillery also makes a blend
of whiskey called 'Inishowen'.
The Louth-based whiskey maker this week also filled
an American wood cask with a special blend malt
whiskey to mark the historic occasion. |

The special blend will
delicately mature during President Obama's years in
office. The cask will then be presented to Mr Obama
when he eventually leaves the White House. |
