Repairs underway on Malin roads
11.03.09
FIANNA Fáil has
welcomed the start of major road improvements this
week in Malin. County Councillor Dennis McGonagle
and local election candidate, Charlie McConalogue,
who hopes to succeed him on the Council, said the
roadworks being carried out under contract from the
local authority will see the resurfacing of roads
around the village.
Repairs were needed after the road surfaces were
badly damaged during work on the Malin Town sewerage
scheme. |
"Much necessary work
requiring the digging up of road for pipe laying has
taken place over the last while and has resulted in
a very rough and unsatisfactory road surface in
Malin Town," said Cllr McGonagle.
Mr McConalogue said he would now "push hard" to get
the required resources allocated by Donegal County
Council for repairs to Malin's footpaths.
"Malin has a proud reputation as a tidy town and it
is important that the good work of local people is
not thwarted by any undue |

delay in the completion
of footpath restoration work. I will be working
closely with Dennis on this over the coming period,"
said Mr McConalogue. |
