Muff
03.04.09
DONEGAL County
Councillor Marian McDonald has praised everyone
involved in making the Muff Sheltered Housing
Accommodation complex a reality.
Cllr McDonald was among a large number of attendees
at the official opening of the 30-apartment complex
at the weekend. |
“I was delighted to
attend the opening day of new sheltered complex.
This is an excellent facility now available, with 30
bright and spacious apartments," she said.
"I would like to congratulate all those involved who
worked so hard and gave up a lot of time to get this
project off the ground. I wish the group all the
best for the future and I hope that this will
inspire others in the peninsula to get involved in
similar projects." |

Her comments were
echoed by Senator Cecilia Keaveney who added: "As
usual a small but committed team came together to
deliver sheltered housing for Muff. It was a long
road, as I know myself from contact that I had from
the group over the years. However, standing in the
completed complex and seeing the huge achievement,
in the presence of people like Jack Dinsmore, who
owned the site, it is truly a job well done."
Senator Keaveney said the atmosphere and ambience of
the new complex would be conducive to a "very
relaxed and yet supported new start for the many
people who will avail of the spacious units".
"As I stood in the completed facility, having also
stood on the greenfield site, I am glad to have been
able to play a small part in driving this project,
but I commend totally the hours of toil that the
core group and Donegal County Council staff such as
Patsy Lafferty gave, to ensure their dream became a
reality.
"Muff can now offer sheltered housing for locals to
remain in the local community. This is a real
achievement, a real credit to all involved," added
Senator Keaveney. |
