MOVIE lovers across Inishowen anxious to get their
first glimpse of the movie ‘A Shine of Rainbows,’
shot around Malin Head, Isle of Doagh and Moville have been able to watch the
trailer for the movie on You Tube over the past
week. Having anxiously awaited news on the movie
since filming finished here last summer, things have
begun to move quickly in the past few weeks.
The film has already been screened at the Toronto
International Film Festival, while Inishowen
musicians The Henry Girls are currently in Los
Angeles where the movie has been shown at a special
Irish film festival.
Now it’s emerged that
the movie has also been selected for screening at
the Times BFI London Film Festival in October and
has been lined up for screening at the Coca Cola
Magic International Film and Television Festival in
Northern Ireland in early December.
That screening at the Movie House Cinemas on the
Dublin Road has been pencilled in for Wednesday,
December 2 at 7pm and the festival’s website not
only urges members of the public to ‘meet the cast
and crew’ it adds that the movie will close the film
section of the festival.
Speaking to the Inishowen Independent, Donegal
County Council's Aideen Doherty who had helped bring
the movie to Inishowen, said that for logistical
reasons there were currently no plans to have a
screening of the movie in Inishowen.
