BUNCRANA Chamber of
Commerce host the second in a series of Business
Watch seminars on Monday, April 20, 2009, at 7pm in
the Inishowen Gateway Hotel. The seminar will focus
specifically on shoplifting awareness and will be of
interest to both employers and employees. After the
success of the Chamber's first Business Watch
seminar in November, demand from local traders was
high. The upcoming seminar will cover topics such as
how to prevent and reduce shoplifting, how to report
it and how to deal with shoplifting incidents as
they happen.
Business Watch is a security initiative designed by
An Garda Siochana. It brings the business community
together to prevent and reduce crime.
Buncrana Chamber administrator Rona McLaughlin
explained: "Reports suggest that the cost to
business as a result of shoplifting can add up to 3%
to the price of the end product and amounts to
massive €100million in lost revenue every year. In
the current economic environment, where businesses
are striving to reduce their costs and stay
competitive, shoplifting is a major cost.
"The Buncrana Chamber of Commerce is delighted to
host this important seminar and would like to
emphasis that it is open to all local businesses not
just our members, we look forward to a good
attendance." Any business interested in attending
can contact the Chamber. |
