Tedstone welcomes more coach tours 19.08.09

BUNCRANA Mayor Lee Tedstone is hopeful the arrival of a number of tour visitors to the town last week from Northern Ireland, will be just the first of many.
The visitors, who arrived in Buncrana as part of a Dessie Lynch tour, enjoyed a terrific stay in the seaside town and the local Mayor is confident about future visits.
Since coming to office in June, Cllr Tedstone has met with a number of tour operators from across Northern Ireland to discuss the possibility of coming to Buncrana and Inishowen and seeing what they have to offer.
He explained that over the past few weeks he had met with the managing director of Executive Travel and Tours, Dessie Lynch to discuss the possibility of bringing his visitors across the border to Inishowen more regularly.
“Executive Travel and Tours, are an internationally recognised tour operation. They bring people of all ages from all over Europe to the whole Island of Ireland. Buncrana and Inishowen now need to tap into this," said Cllr Tedstone.

The Mayor said he was delighted to greet the first of many tour buses to arrive in the peninsula and to recommend the many wonderful sights of Inishowen to the visitors.
“Now that the hard work of getting these visitors to come here has started, I would suggest that the people of Inishowen now take the lead and get in touch with these operators and to ensure that nothing in our beautiful Inishowen is being missed.”
The Fine Gael councillor said he would encourage any operators in the north to get in touch with Inishowen Tourism's marketing manager, Kathleen Gill to see how their tours can benefits from the beauty of Inishowen.

“I am happy to assist anyone in any initiative they might have. This summer is just a taster but I look forward to working with Executive Travel and Tours in the coming weeks to secure a fully-fledged service integrating Northern Ireland with Inishowen tourism,” the Buncrana Mayor concluded.
