BROADBAND customers
using eircom have had their service restored after a
major fault left nearly 40,000 of them without
internet and email. |

Inishowen homes and
businesses were among those without online
communications all day on Thursday after the eircom
fault occured shortly before lunchtime. Technicians
worked late into the evening and service was not
restored until shortly after 11pm that night. Eircom
spokesperson Dearbhaill Rossiter told

the transmission fault
was caused by equipment failure. "It was a pretty
major fault and quite a bit of work had to be done
to repair it," she said. |
