Keaveney says goodbye to
old school

SENATOR Cecilia
Keaveney has bid goodbye to her old primary school.
She said that while she was sad to see the
bulldozers demolish St. Bridget's N.S., Moville, she was
"heartened" that work on a new state-of-the-art
primary school for the town was underway.
"Having spoken to fellow ex pupils I know that there
is a sense of nostalgia for those of us who spent
our formative years in St Bridget’s National School. |

"There are many stories
that we can recall, as is the case for all students
nationally and internationally, I am sure. However,
looking at the site now there have been many changes
to the girls schooling in the past decades."
She acknowledged that difficulties would arise until
the new school was built. |
“While there will be some difficulty in operating
Scoil Eoghain out of its current location - all on
the former boys' school site - I wish the pupils,
staff and parents well in the incoming academic
year.
I also wish the contractor here and in Clonmany
National School a speedy and safe working
environment. I can now point to the fact that I got
my Government to demolish my school. It is just as
well I was able to help in ensuring the money is
there to rebuild it," she added. |
