A NUMBER of Inishowen
youth groups and schools have received small grants
to enhance their facilities for young people.
The groups have received the funding under the
Dormant Accounts and RAPID Leverage Fund to help
improve library facilities and parent rooms as well
as buying small scale equipment.
Among the areas covered in the latest allocation
include Moville, Greencastle/Shrove, Bocan, Glengad,
Muff, Newtowncunningham, Drumfries, Cockhill,
Greenbank, Malin Head, Muff and Burt Presbyterian
Church Youth Club, with grants of €1066 each.
Newtowncunningham Youth Forum, Clonmany Community
Resource Centre and Artlink Limited received €720
while Inishowen Carnival Group, Inishowen Youth
Fitness Association and Inishowen New Start Project
all receive €1066. Meanwhile, Quigley’s Point Scout
Troop and the 9th Donegal Muff Scout Troop received
€624 and €1066 respectively. Scoil Cholmcille in
Malin also received €2,848 towards their Parent Room
Project in the school. A total of €75,523 was
allocated to youth groups around Donegal.
The funding was welcomed by Senator Cecilia Keaveney.
"This funding source has been a great way of getting
monies that have been well spent into the county and
many people have gained huge benefits to date. I
have no doubt that all the groups involved will
greatly welcome today’s allocation," she said. |
