THE director of the North West branch of the Make A Wish Foundation children's charity, Francis Callaghan, has resigned from the post citing increasing business commitments as the reason.

He helped raise thousands of euro for the organisation over the years with popular events such as the Casino Ball, the 007 Ball and last year's sell-out Oscars Ball. He also helped organise a number of Make a Wish Golf Classics at Ballyliffin Golf Club.
In a statement issued last night, Mr. Callaghan thanked the other
members of the local branch committee including Alison McBride, Frances Gill, JP Doherty Roe and Nicholas Crossan for their work in supporting the foundation over the years.
