DERRY City Council has
put in place a number of facilities to ensure the
smooth running of the Banks of the Foyle Halloween
Carnival in the city tonight.
An Information Point has been set up at the entrance
to the Guildhall and staff will be on hand between
2pm and 5pm today, Friday, to answer any queries.
The main stage and family friendly zone have changed
location this year from the Guildhall Square to the
Riverfront along Queen's Quay. Free family
entertainment will begin from 6pm tonight at the
main stage. |
This will be set up at
the quay car park - the closest one to the Derry
City Council offices. The area between the City
Hotel and main stage is a designated alcohol free
zone that will be stewarded from 5pm until 9pm when
the family friendly zone will close. Below is the
new route for tonight's Halloween Carnival Parade: |
|
Departing 7pm from
Guildhall Street travelling past the rear of the
Guildhall down the dual carriageway past the City
Hotel and continuing along Queen’s Quay towards
Queen’s Quay roundabout. It will turn left onto
Strand Road where the parade will finish. The ever
popular fireworks over the River Foyle will begin at
8pm.
The fireworks promise to be even bigger and better
this year with added musical accompaniment. For more
