Dare you go ghost-hunting with ICRfm? 16.10.08

THE crew at ICRfm are preparing to scare the wits out of you with a great new series probing the 'haunted' sites of Inishowen.
With the help of local psychics Jim Quinn and Kirsty Holdridge, the local radio team have been investigating ghostly goings-on from Greencastle Fort, to Swan Park in Buncrana and Falmore House near Gleneely for their new series 'Ghostly Encounters'.
Series creator and producer Eddie McLaughlin said he was "quite sceptical" about spirits and ghosts before working on the programme.
"But experiences during the recordings have left me in little doubt that there’s definitely something else out there," said Eddie.
ICRfm ghost-hunters Eddie McLaughlin, Susan Logue and Marie McDonald. Recorded on location at six sites around Inishowen, the series has already been causing quite a buzz with a short YouTube promo featuring samples of audio and pictures taken at the various sites. To bring you maximum spookiness, the ICRfm gang braved some cold winter nights from last January while all audio was recorded after the witching hour of midnight.
Well-known local psychic Jim Quinn outlined what he discovered during the recording sessions: “I felt that the Fort in Greencastle and Falmore house were the two locations with most activity. I could feel the presence of a lot of spirits in both places and there was definitely a lot of both good and bad energy there."
The 'Ghostly Encounters' production team consisted of Eddie McLaughlin, Trudy McLaughlin, Susan Logue, Marie McDonald, Sharon Barr and Liz Barr. Local woman Carol McCauley acted as group psychologist to give a professional insight into the group behaviours witnessed on-location.
Listeners will also be provided with an alternative, innovative opportunity to learn about aspects of their community’s history with local historian Sean Beattie giving the background to each ‘haunted’ location and any notes of interest they may have from times gone by. The historical insight also adds an interesting slant allowing the team to tie together any ghostly activity they experienced and see if the facts from our past can prove a back-up to what they experienced.
'Ghostly Encounters' begins on ICRfm on 105fm to 107.6fm at Halloween with the series running until December 5. The great new show will air each Friday at 10.30am and will be repeated the same night at 8.30pm. You can also listen online at  www.icrfm.ie ...if you dare.
